One of Cielo’s biggest advantages is its location. Sitting just a short walk from Phra Khanong BTS Station, it’s incredibly easy to reach, even if you’re staying elsewhere in the city. It is also a few minutes walk from the W District, a relaxed outdoor food and bar area that can be a nice spot for a drink after your dinner at Cielo.

That said, finding the exact entrance can feel slightly confusing the first time. The restaurant is located within a residential building, and signage isn’t particularly obvious. It’s one of those places where you might briefly question if you’re in the right spot—but once you’re in the lift heading up, it all starts to make sense.

The slight effort to find it actually adds to the experience. It feels a little more hidden, a little less obvious, and that’s part of the appeal.

The View (The Real Highlight)

The view is, without question, the reason most people come here—and it doesn’t disappoint.

From the top, you get a sweeping, uninterrupted panorama across Bangkok. Unlike some rooftops that are boxed in by surrounding skyscrapers, Cielo offers a much more open perspective, allowing the city to stretch endlessly into the distance. What you’re really paying for here is the overall experience—the combination of views, atmosphere, and setting. When looked at that way, it offers relatively good value compared to more well-known rooftops that often charge significantly more for a similar or even more crowded experience.

Our experience at Cielo Rooftop Restaurant Bangkok

We are fortunate to live fairly near Cielo so have been several times. At the end of 2025, the rooftop saw a renovation, making it feel more elegant and modern than it had done previously.

It offers wonderful views but you don’t get that same touristy, crowded vibe that happens in other spots like Lebua Bangkok. That being said, it is further away from the Old Town, so you aren’t going to get those iconic views of the Chao Phraya River or sky scraping hotels like you do nearer the river.

The food was delicious and a strong point to our visit; this is a huge improvement from our visits before the renovation. They have a varied menu from western-styled pastas and delicious steak, to fun, innovative twists on typical Thai food.

The value for money was fair but you can be smart when visiting here. The standard dishes can be fairly high but the rooftop bar is on HungryHub and GetYourGuide.

Pros & Cons

Cielo’s biggest strength is its ability to offer a high-quality rooftop experience without the intensity or crowds of Bangkok’s more famous venues. The views are exceptional, the atmosphere is comfortable, and the drinks are consistently strong. We actually find this to be one of the more romantic restaurants in Bangkok and it is often overlooked,

On the other hand, the food doesn’t always reach the same level, and first-time visitors might find the entrance slightly difficult to locate. Prices are still on the higher side, though they feel more reasonable when compared to similar rooftop locations across the city.

Best Time to Visit

Timing makes a noticeable difference when visiting Cielo.

Arriving just before sunset allows you to experience the full transition from daylight to night, which is when the setting feels most impressive. Watching the city gradually light up beneath you adds an extra layer to the experience that you simply don’t get if you arrive later.

Booking ahead is a good idea, especially if you want outdoor seating, as these spots tend to be the most popular.

Is Cielo Rooftop Restaurant Worth It?
