The beautiful thing about Thailand though, is that there are all sorts of Michelin Star restaurants in Bangkok. Food can range from traditionally Thai to authentic German, so you can enjoy the best food in all cuisines.

Whilst living in Bangkok, we love that you can also get these restaurants are all price points too; whether it is a ฿10,000 tasting menu on the 65th floor of Lebua State Tower, or a street food pad Thai from the Jay Fair at ฿1000, there is something for all prices and tastes.

Aksorn

Aksorn

Aksorn is one of our favorite Michelin-starred restaurants in Bangkok, which celebrates authentic Thai cuisine inspired by vintage recipes from the 1940s to the 1970s.

Chef David Thompson, known for his deep understanding and expertise in Thai gastronomy, offers a curated tasting menu that changes regularly to showcase the rich and diverse flavors of Thailand’s culinary history.

Standout dishes include the aromatic Gaeng Run Juan, a traditional spicy and sour beef soup, and the flavorful Khao Yam, a southern Thai rice salad infused with herbs and fresh vegetables. We also loved the coconut cupcakes with salted pork. 

Jay Fai

Cuisine: Bangkok Street Food

Location: Old Town

Prices: ฿1000 for the famous Crab Pad Thai

Jay Fai is famous for its elevated Thai street food, particularly the crab omelette and drunken noodles. Chef Jay Fai rose in popularity after being included in a Netflix documentary, and has seen long lines since. 

This is a humble, no-frills eatery is located in the Old Town area of Bangkok, which sees locals, expats and tourists. However, you will need to arrive early or expect to wait; queues are long.

Prices are surprisingly high for street food, with the famous crab omelette priced at around THB 1,000. However, this is one of the cheapest Michelin star options in Bangkok and compared to many others across the world, it is highly reasonable. 

Le Normandie

Le Normandie (Two Michelin Stars)

Cuisine: French

Location: Mandarin Oriental

Prices: ฿7500

Le Normandie offers French haute cuisine, featuring refined dishes such as roasted pigeon and Brittany lobster. We loved the poached fillet halibut and the lamb loin, these were elegantly plated and tasted incredible.

Located in the prestigious Mandarin Oriental Hotel, this restaurant has been a symbol of fine dining in Bangkok for decades.

80/20 Michelin restaurant in Bangkok

80/20 

Cuisine: Thai

Location: Charoenkrung area

Prices: Tasting menu starts at ฿2800

80/20 offers contemporary Thai cuisine with a focus on locally sourced ingredients creating a seasonal tasting menu.

The restaurant features a unique design with an industrial loft style, and it’s great location near the Bangkokian Museum and Talat Noi area, makes it a great option for visitors staying along the river. 

Chef Napol Jantraget’s inventive dishes include dry-aged duck with fermented rice and black chicken with heirloom tomatoes; we loved the lemon basil curry.

Wana Yook

Offeringan elevated interpretation of traditional Thai cuisine with a modern twist, Wana Yook is another one of the best Michelin restaurants in Bangkok and one of our favorite. 

Ran by Chef Phanuphon “Black” Bulsuwan, the restaurant focuses on using locally sourced ingredients to create innovative dishes that honor Thai culinary traditions.

Standout dishes include Khao Chae, a refreshing rice dish served with aromatic water and various accompaniments, and Pla Yum, a flavorful grilled fish salad with herbs and spicy dressing.

Wanna Yook offers a sophisticated dining experience in an elegant dining room, perfect for those looking for romantic things to do in Bangkok for couples.

Le Du Bangkok

Le Du (One Michelin Star)

Cuisine: Thai

Location: Silom

Prices: 4 course menu begins at ฿3900

Le Du reinterprets Thai cuisine with a modern twist, emphasizing seasonal ingredients whilst creating delicious Thai meals. 

Signature dishes include river prawn with organic rice risotto, Tiger prawns and Thai Wagyu, whilst the fresh seafood here is outstanding. 

Blue by Alain Ducasse

Location: IconSiam Mall

Another great Michelin starred restaurants in Bangkok is this popular location in the gorgeous IconSiam mall, meaning you can eat whilst enjoying the spectular views of the Chao Praya River.

Blue by Alain Ducasse delivers French haute cuisine with dishes like Brittany lobster and pigeon with foie gras. We loved the Wagyu beef with piquillos and the veal tenderloin and for those that love a sweet fix, make sure to try their Rhubarb and Sauternes soufflé.

We have also visited this restaurant for their afternoon tea. There are some fantastic afternoon teas in Bangkok and this is a fairly hidden gem option but delicious. The tea includes lobster and caviar rolls as well as scones with hazelnut spread. The tea set currently costs ฿1500 per person, which is in line with prices of afternoon teas in other top restaurants and hotels. 

IGNIV

Location: St. Regis Bangkok

Created by Chef Andreas Caminada, IGNIV presents a multi-course menu designed for communal sharing, allowing diners to experience a wide variety of flavors in one meal.

Dishes which stand out include the Veal Tartar with Imperial Caviar, a luxurious take on a classic dish, and Miso Caramel Duck, which balances richness and umami.

Located in the St. Regis Bangkok, the restaurant’s sleek and contemporary design enhances experience

Potong

Cuisine: Thai-Chinese fusion

Chef Pichaya “Pam” Utharntharm, who trained at the Culinary Institute of America, brings her heritage to life through dishes that blend traditional flavors with contemporary techniques.

The menu is crafted by Chef Thierry Drapeau, who brings his expertise from France to create dishes that are both visually stunning and flavorful. Dishes are also catered to the season too, meaning returning here at a later date will still offer a nice change in the tasting menu. 

Standout dishes include the “Foie Gras au Torchon,” a beautifully prepared foie gras served with seasonal fruits, and the “Lobster Ravioli,” which is rich and delicate. 

Chim by Siam Wisdom

Chim by Siam Wisdom is another one of the Michelin restaurant in Bangkok that specializes in traditional Thai cuisine with a contemporary touch.

Set in a beautifully restored Thai wooden house in Sukhumvit, the interior offers a nostalgic yet modern dining experience. 

The tasting menu includes plenty of local dights from the rich curry with crab meat to the steamed sea bass with lime sauce. The restaurant also focuses on sharing Thai food from the different regions of the country, so you can expect various flavors whilst you are here.
