The location

Pros:

Situated in the heart of Bangkok, the location of the Ambassador Hotel in Bangkok is excellent for most visitors. Located just a short walk off Sukhumvit Road and not far from Nana, the Ambassador Hotel is a good, central location for those looking to sightsee and visit the malls along the BTS.

It is surrounded by bars, restaurants, and other popular hotels, ideal for first-time visitors to the city. There is a 7-Eleven a few doors up and there are also plenty of Bangkok Sports Bars in this area too.

Cons:

The only downside to this location is the Nana neighborhood may not be the first choice for families. Across the other side of Sukhumvit Road is Nana Plaza; a collection of bars for those looking for company.

You can stay in the area and avoid this completely but families may wish to avoid this hotel and stay in one of the more residential areas instead. During our stay, we didn’t see any extra guests in the hotel but this hotel is listed on other sites as a “guest-friendly” hotel, meaning some may choose to bring back new friends to their hotel.

Ambassador Hotel Bangkok Standard Room

The accommodation

The hotel offers a variety of room types, including standard rooms, deluxe rooms, and suites. Although not ultra modern like the other hotels in Bangkok, these rooms are spacious, and clean and offer all the amenities you would expect from a 4-star hotel.

The facilities

There are some great facilities at the Ambassador Hotel in Bangkok, ideal for all types of travelers.

There are two restaurants located here. Am Cafe is an international casual restaurant, offering a buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Hong Teh is a great Chinese restaurant, with plenty of options.

There is a coffee spot named Espresso but we prefer grabbing an iced coffee from the nearby 7-Eleven.

There is a small shopping area here called Alley 11 Plaza, with a selection of bars, stores, and boutiques.

There are plenty of fitness spaces too, including a spacious swimming pool, fitness center, and Muay Thai lessons for those wanting to keep fit on their trip. The hotel also offers laundry service, a business center, a prayer room, and plenty of outdoor space.

The Value

The reason many choose to stay at the Ambassador Hotel Bangkok is because of the value. You can get a room from 1400B, with some great offers available via their website too. Plus, some packages offer room only, so you can take advantage of the cheap local food nearby or opt for a breakfast-included package and enjoy the Bangkok hotel buffet.

Overall Thoughts

The Ambassador Hotel Bangkok is a large hotel, with plenty of affordable rooms. It has good facilities for visitors and its location is ideal for those looking to enjoy the nightlife in Bangkok but also see some of the sights along Sukhumvit Road.

Due to the nature of some of the visitors, we wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families but it is perfectly fine for all over types of visitors.
