Featherstone Cafe Bangkok Review
Featherstone Cafe Bangkok Location
The Featherstone Cafe Bangkok can be found on Pride 31, off Sukhumvit 71. It is an easy place to order a grab to and from or you can take the Sukhuvmit BTS line to Phra Khanong. From here, you can jump on a motorbike taxi or grab a taxi up Sukhumvit 71 to get to the cafe.
Alternatively, you can catch the BTS to Ekkamai and then walk from here; it will take around 30 minutes.
Setting and Decor of Featherstone Cafe
The Featherstone Cafe offers a cozy, intimate atmosphere for visitors. The cafe has a bohemian, rustic vibe, complete with plants and flowers adorning the walls.
The country is a lovely natural wooden style, and the seating areas give a vintage, classic style. The cafe is also fairly big, so you can find nooks and crannies to cozy into and have a quiet space.
The green plants and flowers add a fresh feel to the space and the electric wall art and retro posters just add to the coolness of this quirky cafe in Bangkok and one of the a non-touristy things to do in Bangkok.
Menu at Featherstone Cafe Bangkok
The menu is varied and unique at this themed cafe too and the drinks are just as creative as the food.
Drinks at Featherstone Cafe
Many of the beverages are served in a creative manner; with frozen coffee cubes for your cold brew drinks and Alice in Wonderland themed “drink me” bottles to add to your cocktails.
The signature drink is the sparkling apothecary, a fruit drink with (of course) fun, fruit-infused ice cubes. The blood orange espresso is strong with a hint of sweet, but my favorite drink has to be the cold brew ice cube latte. You add how much sweetness and milk you want included and watch the cubes melt to make a strong cold brew.
They have a variety of hot coffees, including a cinnamon dolce caffe latte (perfect for winter breaks) and refreshing iced coffees. Their frosted mint mocha is another great option for the festive season.
Food at Featherstone Cafe
Although this restaurant has cafe in the title, it is more of a restaurant than your typical sandwich and bakery style cafe.
Appetizers include homemade pate, parmesan baked spinach and sautéed garlic shrimp. Soup and salads are available and change with the season but the mizuna salad with Italian sausages is my favorite.
There are diverse selection of pastas, from carbonara to smoked duck Alfredo pasta. There is a great variety of pizza too, with the egg, bacon and cheese being a favorite in the cafe. Calum loves the Pescatore pizza; complete with fresh seafood and mozzarella.
Mains include a popular duck confit and braised port ribs dish, as well as an impressive T-bone steak with garlic herb butter.
And make sure to finish of your meal with one of their tasty desserts; creme brûlée, tiramisu or chocolate banoffee.
Quality of the food
The quality of the food at Featherstone Cafe is excellent. The menu is fairly extensive but they do pasta and pizza (served more like a flatbread) very well, especially for a restaurant in Thailand.
The ingredients are fresh, dishes are flavorful and there is plenty of options available.
Customer Service
The staff are lovely here. As foreigners, the only aspect of customer service we struggled with was the language barrier. This isn’t a huge problem but it did mean we had to wait for English speaking members of staff to take our order, as the first server wasn’t quite sure what we had ordered.
However, the staff were fantastic and attentive, often giving their own recommendations.
Something really cute, was the feathers! When you visit the cafe, they have a pot of paper feathers, which you choose from. This is like a fortune teller type experience, with a special little message for the reader. I thought it was a really cute touch.
The Price and Value
Drinks and dishes are priced al a carte, and of course vary. However, coffees range from 90-160B, smoothies cost 160B, and sodas range from 60-120B.
Appetizers range from 160 – 320B, salads and soups range between 220 – 450B and pastas range from 250 – 420B. Pizzas start at 310B whilst main meals range between 320B to 890B (with the latter price being a tenderloin steak).
Desserts range from 90 – 250B.
When it comes to value, we personally think this is good value for money. Yes, you are in Bangkok, so it is very easy to find cheaper food than this. However, that doesn’t mean this cafe isn’t worth visiting.
Between the high-quality food, creative presentation, and unique menu items, the food and drink is definitely worth the price.
